Nick: I usually don’t go to clubs without Mariah

Last night (Oct. 19), former NBC Entertainment co-chairman Ben Silverman showed up to IAC’s party in New York City to celebrate the launch of video-content company Notional and the third season of the Food Network’s Chopped.
The theme of the evening was crossing over. Notional represents the intersection of Internet video and traditional television, which makes Silverman’s know-how an invaluable asset.
Proving the point that the venture’s appeal isn’t limited to techies and Twitterheads, a slew of celebs with various connections to IAC appeared at the event, including Eric Mabius and Lonny Ross, of Ugly Betty and 30 Rock, respectively. Standing out in the crowd were guests in formalwear who were coming from the Twilight screening or en route to Diddy’s late-night birthday extravaganza at the Plaza.
Nick Cannon seemed unsure that he would make it to Diddy’s bash. “My wife is out of town,” he said, referring to Mariah Carey. “I usually don’t got to nightclubs without my wife. [Diddy’s party is] actually at a ballroom, though, so you never know.” But Cannon didn’t have the same reservations about hanging out at the IAC building. “We’re potentially getting in business and figuring some things out,” he said about his connection to Diller. “I run the teen division of Viacom, so we’re kind of in the same mindset to figure some stuff out and get together and partner up.”
