BS Alert: Is Mariah Carey Upset With Nick Cannon’s Protege?

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have made no secret of wanting to turn their family of two into a party of three. But something tells us this isn’t quite what the superstar singer had in mind.

In an item called “Three’s A Crowd,” Star reports that Carey “is keeping a very close watch” on 18-year-old rapper Colette Carr, who is recording music with Cannon’s help.

“She’s young and hot, and Mariah hates that Nick spends tons of time with her,” alleges the tab’s source.

In fact, Carey supposedly blasted her husband when “he came home too late for her liking after working with Colette in the recording studio recently.”

Claims the Star source, “Mariah erupted! Nick tries to get her to understand that it’s just business, but she’s convinced more is going on.”

And we’re convinced something isn’t going on at Star… like fact-checking.

A rep for Carey calls the story simply “absurd.”
