Nick Cannon on more kids, new projects and BBQ

Not only is Nick Cannon a bit of a ham, but he also has a thing for other food stuffs.

The “America’s Got Talent” host partnered with Pepto-Bismol and will be serving as the “Grill Master” at this year’s Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest held on Coney Island in New York.

And this is no faked position, Mariah Carey’s husband told CNN. Cannon insists he has skills on the grill.

“I like my sauce spicy,” he said. “I start with a little hot sauce, some spicy mustard and the ‘secret ingredient’ is generic barbeque sauce.”

The funny man said he tried to enter the now legendary hot dog eating contest last year through his radio show, but was unsuccessful in becoming a contestant.

So this year he’s happy to man the grill, which he says is “the daddy thing to do.” On the home front, the Fourth of July will be very low key for his twins, Cannon said.

“The babies are only two months old now so they don’t get out much,” he said.

With his “Mr. Showbiz” comedy album currently out, Cannon says he will next move on to taking his act abroad and performing in London. He said he has no worries that he won’t be able to translate his act for British tastes.

“Funny is funny universally,” he said.

One joke that doesn’t play too well in the Cannon household is the one about adding to their new family. The star says that when he jokes with the Mrs. that since they’re already in the groove with multiples why not carry on, “she doesn’t think that’s funny.”

Giving birth to two babies isn’t easy, as Cannon says Carey often reminds him.

“No matter what is going on in the house that is what I always hear,” he said. “It’s ‘Do you know I just had twins?’”
